Sacred Geometry- and the Story of Tobit

There is a wonderful tale of a journey accompanied by an angel, of healing of blindness and healing of repeated mistakes in relationships.  It is the story of Tobit in the Apocrypha.  It has a happy ending.

Archangel Raphael above  looks pretty calm, he knows his business well.  He gives Tobias, Tobit’s son, various instructions along the way and brings two families together and puts an end to years of suffering.  The internal organs of a fish play a central role.  I now have much more respect for these piscine parts and am wondering if I should start preserving them in various jars in case of an opportunity to drive out demons or heal various ailments comes along.  Forget the NHS and the local Catholic exorcist, go to Constantina’s for her fish bladder remedy.  Works equally well on piles and destroys 99.9% of all known nefarious devils who torment the soul in the early hours.

I jest, my sad humour cannot resist expressing itself and, as I am on a roll embracing my sins big time – resistance is futile – I will let it have its way for a moment before I make my point.

Just lately I am having trouble reading the words of certain Biblical stories and certain poetry; I am having trouble seeing the outside of people.  I keep seeing things as if I am out in space and looking on some large pattern unfolding in the universe – it is awesome and not a sniff of turps within reach – I used to paint such things  when I was younger.

When I think of the story of Tobit all I can envisage is the symbol of infinity- you know the one: figure of eight on its side.  The two families, and the couple to be, Tobias and Sarah, are on two opposite ends of this infinite strand. Separated by geographical space and a series of unpleasantness and or upheaveals in their lives to date. I see the power of God holding this little strand of infinity in His loving hands and in response to the devotion of Tobit throughout his life and the heartfelt prayers of Sarah, our great Father sends a golden strand of light through this figure of eight.  I can see its energy, the Archangel Raphael – who calls himself Azarias on earth – traverses the space and guides Tobias on his journey using what they find on the way, the healing parts of a fish, to bring both families to the nexus point and freedom from the endless repetition of sorrow and suffering.

I see them escaping this loop of an eternal prison and empowered to lead joyful lives. The past has no power and the future – a reflection of the past, no longer exists.  All is in the centre – the point where the figure of eight crosses.  This is the now moment, the point of liberty and complete freedom from the tyranny of our existence and karma.  Only almighty God can bring this about.  We may understand the premise of living in the now moment – there are enough self help books about it, but it is only God who can effect it if He so wishes to bestow this grace upon anyone.

This is a story of sacred geometry.  Two separate circles on either side of the world being brought together.  There is tension as they overlap and without the power of God this union would break apart on the wedding night – it is only through Divine intervention is has any hope of success.  But once God intervenes it is all good, all fine and beautiful

I love happy endings.
